Have you ever read a book that never ceases to amaze you? What about a series that has the same characters and situations but still surprises you, constantly makes you laugh, and still makes you love all the characters all the time?

Jim Butcher's books are like that. And that is putting it mildly. Every time Butcher writes something that I love or that makes me laugh I put a little bookmark in it. The books' spines are always groaning by the time I'm done with them.

The stories are simple, classic. Harry Dresden is a wizard who is hell bent on saving Chicago from the things that go bump in the night. So in each story, he is approached with a challenge or problem and with the aide of a wide cast of sidekicks including faeries, vampires, and even Karin Murphy of the Chicago Police.

These books are funny, adventurous, thrilling, touching, sexy, and almost all other fantastic words I can think of. Speaking of sexy, these books are for an adult audience because of a few steamy scenes scattered throughout the series.

This series is fun, entertaining and despite there being over a dozen of them they never get dull!

Best of all, the author lives in Kansas City and does book signings there for every book release! I love Heartland Authors.
